Google Play screenshot sizes, aspect-ratio rules, promotion eligibility, feature graphic and TV banner specs — with ready-made sizes for every device type.

Google Play is more flexible than the App Store about exact pixel sizes, but it rewards specific aspect ratios: listings that follow the 9:16 / 16:9 recommendations are eligible for richer placements in the store. Design to those ratios and you never have to think about it again.
Phone screenshots
| Platform | Size | Pixels | Screenshots |
|---|---|---|---|
| Android phone | 1080 × 1920 (9:16)Promotion-ready minimum | 1080 × 1920or 1920 × 1080 | 2–8 |
| 1440 × 2560 (9:16) | 1440 × 2560or 2560 × 1440 | ||
| 2160 × 3840 (9:16)Largest allowed | 2160 × 3840or 3840 × 2160 |
- Any size between 320 and 3,840 px per side is accepted, as long as the longer side is no more than twice the shorter.
- 1080 × 1920 is the practical default: it meets the 1080 px promotion threshold at exactly 9:16.
- You need at least 2 screenshots overall to publish, and at least 4 for promotion eligibility.
Tablets and Chromebooks
Google treats 7" tablets, 10" tablets and Chromebooks as large-screen devices. Screenshots must be between 1,080 and 7,680 px with a 16:9 or 9:16 ratio.
| Platform | Size | Pixels | Screenshots |
|---|---|---|---|
| 7-inch tablet | 1080 × 1920 (9:16) | 1080 × 1920or 1920 × 1080 | 4–8 |

Android TV, Wear OS, Android XR and Automotive
| Platform | Size | Pixels | Screenshots |
|---|---|---|---|
| Android TV / Google TV | 1920 × 1080 | 1920 × 1080 | 1–8 |
| 3840 × 2160 | 3840 × 2160 | ||

| Android Automotive | 1024 × 768 | 1024 × 768 | 2–8 |
| 800 × 1280 | 800 × 1280 |
- Android TV apps need at least one TV screenshot and a 1280 × 720 TV banner.
- Wear OS screenshots are square (1:1), at least 384 × 384, and should show only your app UI.
- Android XR uses an 8:5 ratio — 3840 × 2400 recommended.
Feature graphic
The 1024 × 500 feature graphic appears at the top of your listing and in promotional placements. Keep text and logos away from the edges because it can be cropped, and do not rely on it to explain your app — many surfaces show it without your screenshots.
| Platform | Size | Pixels | Screenshots |
|---|---|---|---|
| Play artwork | Feature graphic | 1024 × 500 | 1–1 |
| TV banner | 1280 × 720 |
Content guidance
- Avoid ranking or price claims ("#1", "Best", "Free", "Sale") and calls to action like "Download now" in store graphics — Google's listing guidelines discourage them and they can get a listing flagged.
- Screenshots should represent the actual in-app experience on the device type they are uploaded for.
- Localize: Play Console lets you add graphics per language, and unlocalized languages fall back to your default graphics.
From iPhone to Android in two clicks
In Storedeck, add the Android phone platform and choose Start from: iPhone. Screens, headlines and design are copied and rescaled to 1080 × 1920; then replace the screenshots with Android captures (drop files with the same names and they land on the right screens). Want a Galaxy look? Switch the device to the 3D Galaxy S25 Ultra model.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best Google Play screenshot size?
1080 × 1920 (9:16) for phones. It is accepted everywhere, meets the promotion threshold and keeps file sizes reasonable. Use 1440 × 2560 or 2160 × 3840 if you want extra sharpness.
How many screenshots can I upload to Google Play?
Up to 8 per device type (phone, 7" tablet, 10" tablet, Chromebook, TV, Wear OS, XR). At least 2 are needed overall to publish; 4 or more for promotion eligibility.
Do Google Play screenshots need a device frame?
No. Frames are optional — what matters is that the screenshot shows the real app. A subtle phone frame often helps readability; for Wear OS keep captures plain.
